Ein Elektrokardiograph wurde präpariert, um gleichzeitig die Aktivität der schreibenden Hand und des Herzschlags aufzuzeichnen.

Er wurde verwendet, um einen Textausschnitt der „inneren Erfahrung“ von G.Bataille abzuschreiben und in eine seismografische Linie zu übertragen. Jedes Wort und jeder Satz ist durch rhythmische Auslenkungen übersetzt, die durch den Impuls des Herzens animiert und durch die Bewegungen der Handschrift gesteuert sind. Die zeitgleich auf Thermopapier fixierte Linie macht die subjektive Aneignung des Gelesenen durch das Geschriebene sichtbar. Die Aktion wurde durch zwei Videos dokumentiert. Die Linie wurde anschliessend mit dem Buchtext synchronisiert und in ein Buch gebunden – eine A4 Seite ergab 165 Buchseiten.

An electrocardiograph was prepared to record simultaneously the activity of the writing hand and the beat of the heart.

It was used to copy a text excerpt of the „inner experience“ of Georges Bataille and to transpose it into a seismographic line. Each word and sentence is translated into singular deflections, animated by the impulse of the heart and steered by the handwriting. Two cameras recorded the writing performance. The seismographic line was then printed and synchronized together with the original typed text, bound into a book, showing the rhythm of my reading and writing.
