Ressac, Respiro

Kupferrohre, Schallstück, Lautsprecher, Video, 2014-15

Das Objekt ist hier Instrument, Schallkörper und Aufnahmegerät zugleich. Das drei Meter lange Kupferrohr wurde an einem Ende durch ein Schallstück erweitert, am entgegengesetzten Ende wurde ein Kontakt-Hydrofon in das Rohr eingefügt. Es wurde, wie ein gestrandetes Instrument, der Brandung des Meeres ausgesetzt, von den Wellen durchflutet, ins Meer gezogen und wieder an den Strand geschwemmt.

Zwei Videos dokumentieren die Interaktion zwischen dem Meer und dem Instrument. Die Geräusche, die im Innern des Kupferrohrs aufgezeichnet wurden, werden im Innern des Rohrs durch kleine Lautsprecher auch wieder abgespielt.

Ressac, Respiro

prepared copper pipe with trumpet bell, video and audio, 2014-15

The copper pipe and the trumpet bell is both a recording device, a musical instrument and a loudspeaker enclosure, animated by the surge of the waves on the shore of the sea. The water is pulling the object softly into and out of the water, like a stranded instrument played by the breaking waves. A contact hydrophone in the pipe captured all sounds in its narrow space of three meters length, water, sand and stones in contact with the instrument.

This recordings are played back within the tube, accompagnied by the video recordings without sound, retracing the original recording situation.
